Dear Human Rights Supporter,
How will things ever change if we don’t speak out for what is right?
Please join Amnesty International today in sending an urgent Open Letter to Canada’s Foreign Minister, the Honourable Lawrence Cannon, urging action on the crisis in Gaza.
1. Add your name to Amnesty’s Open Letter and include a message in your own words.
2. Make a donation to strengthen Amnesty’s ongoing, impartial work of monitoring, and reporting on human rights violations wherever they occur.
Civilians must never be targeted in a conflict. Since 27 December the escalating conflict in Gaza has led to the deaths of nearly 700 Palestinians, including 150 children, in Israeli air strikes, and the deaths of eleven Israelis, including civilians killed in rocket attacks launched by Palestinian armed groups. Civilians are extremely vulnerable in this conflict and many are in desperate need of medicine, food, fuel and other necessities to alleviate their suffering.
With your help, Amnesty International is calling for an immediate end to the attacks on both sides- to stop human rights violations, and protect civilian lives. Please add your voice to our call for action at this critical moment.

The Hamilton Muslim Basketball Association (HMBA) is an organized basketball league which caters to the Islamic community of Hamilton and the surrounding area. The league was created in the summer of 2005 and is now in full effect, show casing Hamilton’s Muslim basketball talent. HMBA’s mission statement is to provide a means for Muslim brothers to interact, communicate and learn within an Islamic environment. The league is a way for new brothers to meet other Muslim brothers. The league, takes pride in advocating Islamic principles and brotherhood.
Isha’a is prayed in Jama’a, a dua’a is made before each game with each team, there is no tolerance for rude or inappropriate behavior, and most importantly, it provides an outlet for Muslim youth to gather on a Saturday night.
The league provides a quality rental facility, certified officials who officiate every game, uniforms and awards (both team and players for contributions).
To continue to run the HMBA we need community support to help off set the cost to the students who are participating. Currently, we cannot continue to run this high quality league through player registration only. A tax receipt will be issued for donations more than $50.00.Please help in any way you can. If you cannot help financially then please make dua’a for continued and sustainable success.
